FREQUENTLy ASkED QUEstions

(Updated on March 30, 2025)

Q: Will we be playing in the Bay Area all the time?

A: No. Our team will have 4 home games and 4 away games. We will not be traveling for half of the season, similar to previous years.

Q: Will the season involve a lot of travel?

A: No. Just like traveling to King City, Gonzales, Seaside, and Soledad in the past, this season’s travel will be similar. We’ll have games in Gilroy, Hollister, Morgan Hill, and Santa Cruz. A few games may require travel to the Bay Area.

Q: Where will home games be played?

A: As before, our home games will be held at Alvarez High School.

Q: What time will games be?

A: Home game times will stay consistent with our usual schedule. While times may vary slightly, most teams in the league follow a similar layout to the Titans.

Q: Will all divisions play at the same place?

A: Yes (90% of the time) - The league does its absolute best to schedule all games at the same location. There may be a game where one organization doesn’t have the same division, so the league would already schedule another team for that time (pre-planned). Our organization is consistent with the majority of other organizations with their divisional level offerings (.i.e., 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u, 13u) to avoid situations like this.

Q: When does the season start and end?

A: Similar to previous seasons, our season will start with practices at the end of July. The official schedule begins with Jamboree on August 24th and runs through mid-October. Playoffs will take place in November. We’ll post the full schedule as soon as the league finalizes the remaining details.

Q: Will there be cuts?

A: No, there will be no cuts. Pop Warner, and the BAYFC, do not allow cuts.

Q: Is there a 5th quarter or will all kids be able to play?

A: No, there is no 5th quarter in BAYFC. However, all Pop Warner teams follow the Minimum Mandatory Play Rule (MPR), which ensures every player gets time on the field. Based on the number of players on the roster, each child is required to participate in a certain number of plays during the official game—typically between 8 to 12 plays.

Q: How will cheer change, will they still participate in Jamz?

A: Cheer won’t change much! We will no longer participate in the MBYFL-led Jamz Camp, but we will participate in two BAYFC-led competitions. Which means more cheer this year!
